OUR VINEYARDS

OUR

VINEYARDS

Our vineyards stretch across six vineyard sites in the district of Bechtheim. They are farmed with the greatest care in order to guarantee uncompromising quality.

THE BASIS OF OUR CREATION.

Our vineyards cover over 20 hectares in six different places. Here, we cultivate the different vine varietals for our diverse wines. The majority of our soils are found in calcareous loess rock, the ideal setting for great wine. More than 100,000 vines thrive and grow here and bring excellent yields through gentle care. Our vineyard is composed of 60% white grape varietals and 40% red grape varietals.

We achieve our high quality through great care and tireless personal commitment. We focus on quality-enhancing and yield-reducing measures. Tradition is also very important to us. Besides the tried and tested, we also take new routes and constantly evolve.
Tradition and quality in wine, everything from a single source – this is our sign of quality and guiding principle at Bastianshauser Hof.

PHILOSOPHY

We are convinced that “less is more.” This is also reflected in how we care for our vineyards. Quality is never allowed to suffer just to achieve higher yields – quality instead of quantity is our motto! The more labor-intensive measures will definitely pay off in the future quality of the wines.

This maxim is our top priority. That these are not just words, but is actually lived out, can be seen at the very latest when you taste our wines. In order to meet this requirement, we process the harvested grapes in the wine cellar as gently as possible.
